I am an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Missouri State University. My current book project, which is under contract process at Cornell University Press, examines when political leaders use national humiliation narratives as a political strategy and the unintended effects of these narratives and the emotions they evoke on foreign policy preferences. I was a Rosenwald Postdoctoral Fellow in U.S. Foreign Policy and International Security at Dartmouth College from August 2021 to June 2022. I completed my doctoral studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. My work has been published in The Journal of Politics, International Studies Quarterly, and Political Analysis.
